Hey there! I know, it’s been forever. In between putting together a new house (the Great Move of 2015 continues) and getting my kids settled in their new school, I’ve been contemplating what I’m going to do with this little blog. I want to change it up, do something different. While I love blogging about beauty, and I don’t plan on stopping, I seem to want more. So we will see what comes of it. Right now I’m having fun with a redesign, because no matter what we need to freshen it up a little around here.

In the meantime, though, I’ve discovered a fun new lippie that I’m kind of obsessed with. It’s the Maybelline Lip Studio Color Blur, and it’s kind of a lipstick and a lip stain all rolled into one with a smudger thrown in. I know, right? A smudger!

So here is how you use it: in the center of your lips, apply a good coat of Color Blur. Take the silicone smudge thingy and blend it outward. The effect reminds me of how your lips look after eating cherries. A natural looking stain, if such a thing is possible.

The smudge stick on the Color Blur really works. It’s stiff yet forgiving, so you just use small brushstrokes outward. The color blends into your lips and fades out. The possibilities are endless here – you could do an ombre, or just use it for stain, or fill in the entire lip with a solid color. It’s really fun to play with, and I highly recommend it.
